The biggest update yet, and free for every Knight Drum owner.
Lay your patterns out into full songs on pattern, audio and MIDI tracks. Move, cut, split and loop regions on a real timeline, record audio, and play any VST3 instrument from a MIDI track.
Switch from classic drum machine to a full polyphonic MPC-style drum sampler: six banks of pads, 108 in all, with chromatic pad mode and note repeat.
Seventeen performance effects, from filters and tape stop to repeat, reverse and ring mod. Play them on an XY pad, latch them on, or paint them onto steps and song bars.
Render MIDI, a full audio bounce, or one WAV stem per channel, then drag it straight onto your DAW's tracks. Works for a single pattern or the whole song.
Turn on SYNC and the arranger follows your DAW's playhead, so you can write the whole drum track in Knight Drum while you work on everything else in your session.
Sample your mic, anything playing on your computer, or Knight Drum itself, through clean, MPC 60, SP-1200 or EPROM character. Then chop it across the pads by transients, beats or live taps.
Every pad can run a different sound engine. Mix vintage and modern sampling and synthesis in the same kit.
Loads and reads original EPROM .bin files while emulating the filters and sonic behavior of machines like the Linn 9000, LM-1 and Oberheim DMX/DX.
A modular drum synth engine with models inspired by classic units like the Simmons SDS, ClapTrap and Roland TR-808, plus a new 2-op FM engine. Every voice is modeled and shaped individually.
Captures the punch, texture and digital character of late-'80s and early-'90s ROMpler machines like the Roland R-8 and Yamaha RY30.
A clean, linear sample engine. What you put in is exactly what you get out.
Chop, sequence and perform, then take it straight into your DAW.
Built-in sample chopping lets you edit samples, create crossfades and build your own kits. Anything you chop or design across the four engines can be converted to .wav or .bin EPROM. Right-click or drag it straight from the green visual window to your computer, your DAW or knightdrum.com, or load it back onto vintage hardware.
The built-in sequencer records notes, hi-hat decay and pitch in real time, or lets you dial them in with step input: note repeats, pitch shifts, decay and timing changes. When the take feels right, drag the MIDI straight into your DAW.
A Humanizer engine randomizes velocity, pitch and timing per drum voice, while the optional Feel Emulation mode recreates the groove and timing of different vintage machines.
Built-in effects on every voice: flanger, phaser, stereo widener, transient shaper, EQ, reverb and delay. On the master bus, room emulation, reverb, delay and lo-fi controls let you downsample, bit-crush and add noise, wow and flutter across the entire machine.
Every engine, FX and sequence saves with the kit. Grooves, patterns and kits can be dragged in and out of Knight Drum and shared through knightdrum.com, so you can explore new sounds and discover ideas from the community.
